Tattoo Experience Details
Thank you for your interest in getting tattooed at Middle Son Tattoo! Below we have detailed what you can expect from your time on the property. It is broken down by the type of experience, so that you can make an informed decision about what would work best for you. Our main objective is for you to get the exact type of tattoo you are looking for. If your proposal is selected we will work together over email and through a virtual consultation to figure out which experience would best fit your needs.
The Weekend Stay ($2000-$3000)
This package includes two full days of tattooing and up to three nights stay in the cabin. A guest who selects the Weekend Stay would arrive on Friday afternoon (between noon and 6:00pm), get settled in and have a consultation with the artist. The tattooing will happen on Saturday and Sunday, with between five and six hours of tattooing per day, depending on the size and complexity of the piece. Guests will have time before and after the tattooing to walk the trails on the property, explore the Northeast Kingdom, or just relax with a book at the cabin. This experience can yield up to a half sleeve sized tattoo, or can be used in conjunction with other appointments to work on a larger project. The weekend experience can also be split between multiple guests (up to six), with an additional $50 material charge per person. The cabin comfortably sleeps two guests, but could accommodate four. Additional guests will be provided with well maintained camp sites. The final price depends on the size and complexity of the tattoo. For food, there are many lovely restaurants in the area, basic cooking space is provided in the cabin, and some prepared meals are available as an additional add-on.
The Full Day ($1200-$1500)
This package is aimed towards clients who want a medium sized piece, or multiple small tattoos. A guest who selects the Full Day will have a consultation, a full day of tattooing and up to two nights in the cabin. If they want to have a consultation in person, a guest should arrive by 6:00pm the day before their tattoo. These appointments will mostly be scheduled mid-week. This type of appointment can be split between up to two people with a $50 material charge for the additional person. The final price depends on the size and complexity of the tattoo. For food, there are many lovely restaurants in the area, basic cooking space is provided in the cabin, and some prepared meals are available as an additional add-on.
The Hourly ($200 an hour)
While Middle Son Tattoo offers an overnight experience, we know that this may not be for everyone. Particularly for locals who want a tattoo, but don’t need the accommodations. In this case, we offer our hourly rate. These tattoos will be scheduled between the longer appointments when there is availability.
Pick Your Own Tattoo
In the spirit of Vermont’s orchards and berry farms we will be offering a PYO tattoo option. This is for the adventurous guest who wants their tattoo to be integrally connected with their time in Vermont. A guest who chooses the PYO experience will spend an hour or two in the morning walking our trails, curating a collection of plants, flowers, sticks, rocks, and whatever else they might find. They will bring their collection to the artist, who will use those elements as inspiration to draw a composition directly onto the guest, then tattoo it. This experience can be requested for the Weekend Stay or for the Full Day. It can also be requested by clients who aren’t staying, in which case it will be priced hourly from the beginning of the drawing to the end of the tattoo.
