About the event

Join us for the first annual Rake Factory Arts Festival!

Finding community is always important, but feels especially necessary right now. Come share in a celebration of beauty, both natural and human-made.

Enjoy a great lineup of bands, buy art from local artists, and maybe even get a flash tattoo in the charming woods of Peacham, Vermont. Explore the fields and forests on our trails, or just relax with friends on a picnic blanket. Food will be available on site, but guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks as well. Stay tuned for an announcement of our upcoming lineup of local and national acts. We hope to make this festival a summer tradition, so the more interest we have this year, the more feasible it will be going forward. Hope you can make it!

To make this event as accessible as possible, we are offering tickets on a sliding scale in which “supporter” tickets help subsidize “Concession” tickets. Limited camping spots are available – if you would like to camp on the property, purchase the “general admission + campsite” ticket.

All proceeds go towards paying the performers and making your experience as comfortable and fun as possible.

FAQ

How do I get to the property?

Do not just put the address in your GPS: it will not get you there. If you are using a map app, navigate to the intersection on Joe's Brook Road and Rake Factory Road. Drive up Rake Factory until you see a sign on the right for Rake Factory Arts. Make sure to download the map beforehand.

So it's on a dirt road, can my car make it?

Not only is the property on a dirt road, but it is on a Class 4 road. It can be a bit bumpy, and we would recommend a 4-wheel drive car. That said, we drive up to the property in a variety of vehicles including a Toyota Prius, a Nissan Leaf, and a Honda Fit...so it is definitely doable.

Will there be parking?

There will be parking available on site, there will be folks onsite directing parking, please only park where directed. Carpooling is highly encouraged, it's better for the environment and will make parking easier.

What should I wear?

You will definitely want practical, comfortable, walking shoes. It will be warm during the day, but cool at night, so bring layers. Make sure you feel comfy and cute!

What are the options for food and drinks?

There will be food available for purchase on site, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. You are also welcome to bring your own food and beverages (including alcohol, please no glass). If you plan to drink, please make sure to have a designated driver.

What other things should I bring?

Sunscreen, shade umbrellas, reusable water bottle, lawn chairs, picnic blanket, and bugspray (be wary of ticks).

How accessible is the property?

There will be accessible restrooms, seating, and shade, however, this is an outdoor event that may include uneven terrain. If you have particular questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out. We want this event to be accessible to all!

Will there be bugs?

The short answer is yes. Vermont summers come with a range of biting insects, including ticks. We would recommend bringing bug spray/tick spray. Make sure to do a tick check at the end of the day! We will have bug spray on site for anyone who forgets to bring their own.

Will there be bathrooms?

We have composting toilets available for guest use. We also encourage any guests that feel comfortable peeing in the woods to do so.

Is there phone service and WiFi?

Be ready to be off grid for the day! Phone service is spotty, and there will not be wifi available.

I want to spend the night nearby, but I don't want to camp

If you want to stay in the area, there are a variety of local bed & breakfasts and conventional hotels a quick drive away in St. Johnsbury.

Should I bring money?

There will be food and art for sale, so we encourage you to bring cash. Payment apps might not work up there due to the spotty cell reception.

Can I bring my kids?

Of course– children get in for free. Please be aware that it is a property in the woods without a lot of amenities, but there is plenty of outdoor space to play. We will have lawn games set up.

Should I have a Designated Driver?

If you plan on drinking, then absolutely yes. We want to make sure that everyone stays safe.

Can I bring my pet to the event?

We welcome pets at the event. They will not be allowed inside the building, but there is ample outdoor space. Please only bring your pet if it is well behaved, and used to being around people and other animals. Also please come prepared to clean up poo.
